"I’ve been using serif.com for vector designs, mostly..."
I’ve been using serif.com for vector designs, mostly clean shapes and logos, and it’s been really easy to work with. The tools feel smooth and don’t make everything overly complicated. It took me a little while to get comfortable, but now I end up using it pretty much all the time. Anyway, yeah.
"Updates have been a little hard to keep track of"
I do like the software overall, and I’ve used it enough to feel comfortable with it. But the updates from Serif lately have been a bit hit or miss for me. One update will fix something I was dealing with, then the next one, or maybe it was the one before that, seems to change something else in a way that’s kind of annoying. I lose track of which version did what. It just feels like some updates get pushed out before everything is fully checked. It’s not awful, and I’m still using it, but it doesn’t feel as solid or predictable as I expected.

"I had an issue with my Affinity..."
I had an issue with my Affinity install and was a bit worried I’d messed something up, so I reached out to support. They got back to me the next day, which was reassuring, and the fix they sent actually worked straight away. Happy with how it was handled, honestly.

"Pretty good, but it slows down now and then"
I use the app regularly, usually while I’m bouncing between emails and a half-finished cup of coffee, and most days it works just fine. The only thing I’ve noticed is that it can start to lag when I’m dealing with bigger files. It’s not a dealbreaker or anything, but it does get a little annoying when you’re waiting on something simple to load.

"Refund came through, but canceling was a hassle"
I did end up getting my refund, so that part was fine. But canceling took way longer than I expected, and the support replies felt like the same canned apology over and over instead of actually helping move things along. It worked out in the end, but it was more annoying than it needed to be.

"I had a question before buying, mostly because..."
I had a question before buying, mostly because I’ve been burned before by companies giving vague answers and then acting like it’s my fault later. Serif got back to me quickly though, and the reply was clear without trying to pressure me into anything, which I appreciated.
Everything felt straightforward and honest, with no strange surprises or confusing follow-up emails waiting to trip me up. Maybe my expectations are low because of past experiences, but this made me feel like I could actually trust the company, and the software itself has been fine too.

"Honestly kind of obsessed with editing photos in Serif"
I’ve been using serif for my photo edits for a few months now and I swear, it has saved my entire camera roll from looking tragic. Cropping, fixing colors, cleaning up tiny marks, messing with layers — once I got the hang of it, everything felt smooth and way less intimidating than I expected.
I did spend a little time at first dramatically searching for a few tools like they had vanished into another dimension, but after that it was totally fine. It also doesn’t make my laptop sound like it’s preparing for takeoff, which is a huge win. For the price, it’s really good if you just want to edit pictures without turning it into a whole production.

"Didn’t handle my Adobe files well"
I tried using this with some PSD files I’d been working on after reorganizing my desk and finally getting back to a project I’d put off for a few days. Unfortunately, it opened the files wrong and a bunch of the layers were messed up. For what I need it for, it’s just not usable

"Feels a bit too limited for serious work"
At first glance, it looks nice and easy to use, but once I tried doing anything more detailed, it started feeling kind of shallow. I kept running into missing options and random limits that made it hard to get things exactly how I wanted. Maybe it was built more for quick, simple projects than real design work, but I’m just guessing. Either way, it didn’t feel worth it for anything more serious.

I found it really simple to use and had no trouble getting started. It feels straightforward, doesn’t it?

"Good tools, but the crashes get annoying"
I do like the serif apps overall, and for the kind of stuff I usually work on, they mostly get the job done. I’m not doing anything too wild, just editing larger files here and there, usually in the evenings after work with way too many tabs open. The problem is the stability hasn’t been great for me. I’ve had a few random crashes in the middle of editing, and one time I actually lost some work, which was frustrating. It’s not bad enough that I’d stop using them, but it definitely gets annoying when you’re trying to finish something. Hopefully they sort it out in an update soon

"Helpful forum, just a bit slow"
The community forum does have some helpful people on it. A few good suggestions here and there. But the replies can take a while, and sometimes they’re not super clear. I did get my issue partly fixed, so that was something. Not amazing, not terrible. Just okay.

"Good tools, but you have to stick with it"
I’ve been using Serif for a while now, and I’ll admit it’s a solid set of tools. I wasn’t totally sold at first because a few things weren’t very obvious, and I had to look up some videos just to figure out the basics. That was a little annoying. But once I got used to how everything works, it started to feel a lot more manageable. I guess I’d say it’s worth the time, even if I wish it had been easier to pick up right away

"Pretty good, but I wish the bugs were fixed"
It works fine most of the time, but bugs still pop up here and there. I kind of regret not checking that before using it regularly, because it can get frustrating when it happens

"Helpful pricing with no surprises"
I appreciated how clearly Serif shows the prices before you check out. It was simple and useful, and I didn’t run into any random add-ons or surprise fees. The only small thing is that I wish the upgrade info was a little easier to find.

"I’ve been using Serif for layout stuff and..."
I’ve been using Serif for layout stuff and overall it’s decent. For simple flyers or quick little pages, it gets the job done fine. But when I’m doing anything that actually needs to go to print, I still find myself slowing down and checking everything twice, especially bleed settings, color stuff, and the PDF export options. Maybe I’m just picky because I’ve had one too many print shop surprises, but it doesn’t feel totally smooth. It works, and I’ll keep using it, but for press-ready files I’m definitely not just hitting export and walking away to make coffee.

"Pretty good for flyers and quick layouts"
I’ve been using it mostly for making flyers and simple page layouts, and it’s been easy to get things looking decent. Some of the menus still throw me off sometimes, especially that one section with all the options, but overall it gets the job done.

"My account and licenses are working okay, so..."
My account and licenses are working okay, so I can’t really complain about that part. I just wish they made it easier to manage everything. It feels like I always end up having to figure things out the hard way, even for simple stuff that should be straightforward.

"The text tools still feel a bit rough"
I’ve been using Serif for a while now, and there are definitely things I like about it. But whenever I’m working with text, I seem to run into little frustrations. Kerning doesn’t always react the way I expect, and styles can get a bit unpredictable. I’ve spent more time than I’d like fixing layout issues that felt like they should’ve been simple. It’s not a dealbreaker for me, but I do wish the text tools were smoother.

"Imports is a bit hit or miss"
I’ve been using it for a bit, and the import stuff is kinda unpredictable. Some files opens up just fine, but others come in messy or need fixing after. It’s not terrible, just a little frustrating when you don’t know what you’re gonna get.
